Is security just for advertisment?
Looking at Firefox page I can quote this sentence:
The award-winning Web browser is now even faster, more secure, and fully customizable to suit your online life.
Reading such a claim I would never expect to find out this article on SlashDot:
with a Javascript you can stole passwords to Firefox users. I don't think that such a browser is secure.
So since we proofed that Firefox isn't secure as Mozilla Foundation claims we need to change our browser. Looking at Apple's Safari page (Sorry, I forgot to turn of my reality distortion field) I can find a similar claim:
Apple engineers designed Safari to be secure from day one.
But few hours after the release researchers found lot of security hole on this software. What a good design!
So don't trust software that comes with security in advertisment, try to find out software that is really secure. Since I talked about browser for Windows I can suggest you IE7 or Opera, secure not only on their homepage claim.
Thanks for the inspiration of this article to Paperino

Still no Vista service pack, does anyone need it?
Vista SP1 won't be released until 2008. But does anyone really need it?
I don't think, Vista is stable, safe and works perfectly.
Many companies are waiting for SP1 to deploy Windows Vista, that could be the only reason to release, since SP1 is perceived as the true working version.
But looking at the features of SP1 I notice that:
- I don't need to use Google desktop search instead of Instant search
- Windows Upadate installs all the hotfix and patch, I don't have to wait for SP
- Performance are already good, altaught a boost is always welcome
